What a match today against Westhill!
The Chopbacks were 3-0 up in 15 mins, only to take their foot off the gas despite the management urging them on.
Westhill were calm and didn’t give up and a couple of uncharacteristic player errors allowed them to nick a couple of goals. A third error saw the scores level.
Neil Sutcliffe put the team to task in the half time talk and the players initially seemed to respond, however a couple more errors from a different part of the pitch allowed them to take the lead 5-3.
From that point South Coast Athletico responded with urgency, hemming Westhill into their own half.
Some resolute defending kept Westhill in front however, after persevering and battling hard, SCA managed to draw level!
Time sadly ran out for us and it finished 5-5.
There were many positives, we had the majority of possession, a vast number of shots and our goals came from all round the pitch.
Most importantly, despite the lapse in concentration and individual errors, the team never gave up.
For the neutral it was a fantastic game! Looking forward to the return game.
