The winter weather today played its first hand as our pitch was deemed unplayable.
Thankfully our opponents Bexhill AAC 2nds were able to offer a pitch and the game went ahead at Bexhill downs.
AAC had the brighter start as we looked a little sluggish, but we grew into the game. Both teams had opportunities and shared position, however it was AAC that opened the scoring followed by a second just before the stroke of half time.
The Chopbacks were still in the game and from halftime set up to get back on terms.poor marking and a great strike from AAC led to a deserved 3-0 lead.
The boys didn’t drop their heads and pushed on, we had several half chances and credit to AAC’s keeper for snuffing out a few opportunities.
Wayne Marchy scored one back in the dying minutes and the lads rallied hard. It was too little too late and the ref blew for full time.
Bexhill AAC showed their class today, played some good football and were good hosts to us.
The referee was excellent and kept the game flowing well. To be fair it’s our first league loss since the second game of the season so been a good run.
Were still right in the mix and will crack on as determined as ever……. Come on you Chopbacks!
Have a great weekend peeps
