Chopbacks grind out another 3 points

This weekend saw the Chopbacks host Bexhill Rovers in what is fast becoming a bit of Derby match given the previous encounters between the two teams.

Both teams started with high intensity but it was the Chopbacks that made the early breakthrough on th 16^th minute when Connor Easton flicked on for Tyler Smith to round the goalkeeper to slot home.

Tyler Smith then doubled the lead with some fast reactions after failed clearance from 30 yards fell to him and with the keeper caught out of position he finished like a striker on form at the moment.

Rovers got one back 5 minutes later after a tussle in the box which led to the ball being poked in from close range.

The second half started in a quite a conservative manner with neither team really testing their respective goalkeepers.

That all changed after a free-kick was awarded to Bexhill Rovers on the 75 minute mark which was crossed into the Chopbacks box and headed in from 10 yards to bring the scores level.

Before Bexhill Rovers had enough time to finish celebrating their equalizer they were stunned when straight from kick off Byron Nichol played a deep high through ball that Tyler Smith chased down and whilst tussling with the defender the ball found its way to Connor Easton who struck it first time catching the keeper off guard as the ball flew over his head giving the Chopbacks back the lead after just 60 seconds.

The remainder of the match was all about game management in order to see out the game for another 3 vital points.
