Chopbacks ill discipline costs victory

Following on from last weekends sizeable victory in the league the Chopbacks back at home against Battle Town II.

The weather conditions were horrendous with many games being postponed due to waterlogged pitches and the high winds did not help either with a few players missing this weekend for various reasons.

The Chopbacks went behind early after a goalkeeping mistake gave the opposition the lead but a Lee Finnigan penalty meant the halftime score was 1-1.

With injuries to both Jack Bloomfield & Lee Finnigan things needed to be shuffled around for the second half.

David Burch put the Chopbacks in the lead early in the second before a silly push in the box gave Battle Town II the opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot after Ben Tate had saved the first one but was adjudged to have left his line forcing a retake which was despatched to level the scores.

Poor discipline resulted in 4 yellow cards being shown to the Chopbacks & a straight red being given to Dayle McGurk meaning a bad day at the office and 2 points dropped with the score ending 2-2.
